There where a lot of field recording in nature, but we had our fare share of studio experiments as well. Making music is one of the art forms that I think, most of us could agree, embraces fun and play as an integral aspect of the process.
We witnessed a pure joy in the 2 hour process of set up for a pop up jamming session. Moving equipment, sorting and connecting cables just so we could mess around and play with sounds and instruments so that latter on we would spend 3 extra hours do dismantle all. Setting up, dismantling it all is all part of this ritual of jamming noise play.
In visual arts we rarely include or talk about the methods, ups and downs of that invisible labour behind the making, how it all came to be, the failures and learning curves.
Sometimes it takes years to create something that often seems to be done in the mater of weeks.
We are grateful to Daniel More for introducing us to Novi Sad experimental sound scene. Taking us to local, very underground jamming sessions. Recording and playing in studios and just sharing with us his experience as musician and multidimensional artist.
This project nurtures slowness and practice of slow art. Taking time to finish, star anew, leave it all aside and come back to it again.
Freds music track from the field recordings is not yet done. But here is a sneak a peak into some of his music. Experience 20 something years of making music in one track.
